WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

During the workshop we will learn how to make a simple musical instrument from natural and recycled materials. With simple tools and easy techniques, using materials collected in nature or the trash can, we create percussion and wind instruments, shakers and all sorts of noise-producing objects. The musical instruments that Nicolaus will teach us are inspired by cultures and times of many different countries. The main lines of the workshop will be: collecting – transforming – exploring – improvising – composing – presenting. The invented instruments will be used to create a sound sculpture or a role in the “A Journey Through the Senses of Dobralak” and “Whispers”. The workshop is part of the artistic program of Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture in 2019.
